Great Project for the New Deal Art Class in July

Artist Paula Stone just stopped in to talk about the project she has in mind for kids to create in the New Deal Art class in July.  Paula has come up with an art project that connects the art that was done by the Public Works of Art Program in the 1930s to art done today using recycled materials — puzzle pieces, magazines, buttons, acrylic paint, glue, and more.

Kids in grades 4-8 can see and learn about art produced in Nebraska in 1930s depression era and then make an art piece reflecting life in Nebraska in 2010 and beyond.

To find out more about this class and to reserve your spot, go to the Nebraska State Historical Society website www.nebraskahistory.org and click on “What’s New”.  Then scroll down to the information about the summer classes.
